What is Google Dorking?

It is a really simple and yet powerful method to narrow your Google search down to achieve better results. Google Dorking/ Google Dorks describes a search syntax to filter the normal Google search and for example search for specific terms, file or limit the search to a single site. In this blog post I will give you a small introduction and publish more tips and tutorials over time since I have to learn a lot before I publish more in-depth content.

What are Google Dorks used for?

There are plenty of use cases for Google Dorks. For example among security researchers, pentester or cybercriminals they are used to find leaks, databases, login pages, passwords, and so on. But in the end, everyone can make use out of them.

Simple Google Dork examples

site:example.com term Google search for s single site

filetype:pdf Search for specific filetype

inurl:/login Search for term in the url

Feel free to combine multiple operators:

filetype:pdf site:example.com Look for all PDF-files in the domain example.com.
